A Day of Homework

Okay, I've got 4 worksheets left to complete for psychology. 3 of them is just having to finish off some last bits and pieces, but there's one which is fully due next Tuesday. Literature mock exams are continuous for three days (Wed, Thurs, Fri), Maths mocks next Friday, Psychology mocks tomorrow, History mocks on Monday. Hm.

Not half bad, I guess. At least it's not all in one day.

But that just means I'll have to study more.

Oh, did I mention? I went to watch 'Seventeen Again' with Shu Yee yesterday, starring Zac Efron. I didn't expect much from the movie, so I came out of the cinema feeling satisfied. LoL. We had a Ben & Jerry's Cheesecake Chocolate Chip ice cream for the movie, and some gummi bears from WHSmith. And then... *drumroll*... We went to feast on Malaysian food! At this restaurant called 'Me Old China'. Shu Yee had laksa, and I had Char Ho Fun.

I really really really miss Penang Laksa. And Char Ho Fun. And Popiah.

*drools*

Guitar Tragedy

My guitar broke! I had a break from classes and went back to my room at 12pm, and I saw my guitar on the floor but thought, 'oh I'll pick it up later'... After coming back from another batch of classes, I decided to finally pick up my guitar, only to find that it's broken!

I don't know what to do! Do I confront the cleaners about this? Coz they cleaned my room today. But I have no proof, and I also don't want to drag people into this, especially if they didn't do anything. And if it's all an accident, then I can't go round blaming people, and I really do feel responsible for it myself. But if I don't, I'm seriously screwed, because I'll have to either tell the school and pay them back, or buy another in its place. The poor guitar! Gosh...

I'm screwed! Do you know how much guitars cost? NO NO NO!

It actually hurts the soul... GAH

Can't sleep!

It's 3a.m. in the middle of the morning, I'm having my first day of the new term tomorrow, and I'm still awake!
I honestly can't believe this... I've been able to act like a complete pig for the past couple of weeks and now, my piggishness has to stop right before my first day! I'm going to have eyebags tomorrow!

This is ridiculous! Go and sleep, you!

Beach Day

Hey y'all! I went to the beach earlier with Holly and Elvina, though, for some reason, they've suddenly turned camera-shy. Here are the pictures I took anyway. And a lot of the pictures are just little 'moments' that I thought were beautiful/amazing/nice.

img_2606

Surprisingly, the beach has more activity than every other shopping centre (nearly all shops are closed due to Easter Sunday).

img_2607

Miss Holly Belcham! ... who refuses to look at the camera...

img_2608

Elvina, eating her hotdog. She claims it's not as nice as the other day when she shared it with Shu Yee. But then again, things are nicer when you have less of it, no? =P

img_2614

Thought the building back there was nice.

img_2615

La-di-da.

img_2622

If y'all see carefully, the sand here isn't exactly 'sand'. It's more like pebbles and rocks, very unlike the beaches in Malaysia.

img_2628

Hurling stones into the sea.

img_2632

'Careful now...'

img_2630

Cute moment.

img_26171

'Mum, look at me! Not at the sky!'

img_2634

This guy actually asked me, 'You taking a picture of me?' and I was like, 'Heh...'

img_2635

Fun at the beach.

img_2637

Ice-cream at the beach.

img_2636

Lovely little gathering.

img_2638

Having some little treats.

img_2639

Aww...

I think (know?) that we're not really allowed to take pictures of people, but since I'm only taking pictures in public venues, it's not really considered an invasion of privacy, is it? Coz I really do enjoy it. LoL

Right. The psychology worksheet next to me is calling my name. Ciao.

Vivian - Hahaha. Actually I just needed to keep in touch with my Mandarin, so it isn't a story or anything.

Krystle - Ah sweetie. It's not time for you to look at anyone's rant. See that book over there? It's calling your name. =P

Mun Yee - You lah baboon. I thought you need to learn Mandarin also right?

Kah Ying - 谢谢你的关心。其实, 我也没怎么了,只是有些时候不大觉得像自己。 我还是写个电子信函给你吧!

Hooi Ping - 1 out of 10? Half Banana? More like Complete Banana! XD

TJ - When boredom hits you, try it yourself. It's not half bad.

Gitz - You ah... *roars with laughter* ... If I were reading Sindi words, I would also be seeing patterns wei...

Saras - Maybe the dress is transparent... Who knows? It's a book cover, dear =P

Vennila - Nope, didn't visit Churchill's Chapel... What's the story? LoL

Sarah - Well, I hope that my comment on 'The Memory Keeper's Daughter' is still worthwhile. I think it's quite nice, and yes, it's worth the money, but you see first yeah. You know lah, me and you, our tastes in books are sometimes on the same length (i.e. Jodi Picoult) and sometimes clashing (i.e. The Book Thief). Haha.

Tabby - I won't really get in trouble lah, for putting up a kid's picture. *pause* Right?

Pictures of Austria!

Here are some pictures of Austria when Dad and I went to Vienna last week:

img_2338

On a street in Karlsplatz (near the Opera House), this shop sells little trinkets (but very expensive trinkets).

img_2339

Tadah! I took this picture without actual permission, coz it was within the shop, but I couldn't resist! It's so cool!

img_2344

A little stall (okay, not exactly stall, more like 'high-class stand') selling hotdogs near the Albertina Museum, but we didn't end up eating any, coz I only wanted vegetarian which they don't serve (Austrians are famous for their sausages by the way, and pork ribs or something like that) and Dad was like, 'Aiyah, never mind lah, no need eat.'

img_2347

A newspaper stand? LoL, well it's how they sell newspapers, like tied to the street poles. No idea how it works though.

img_2353

ART. Along the walls of the subway stations.

img_2369

Dad standing next to a shop selling all chocolates!

img_2371

It's called CHOCOLATE, people! CHOCOLATE!

img_2372

I thought this bus was adorable.

img_2373

The Albertina Museum (and below is some restaurant at which Dad took me for dinner with his colleagues).

img_2374

The lockers provided for free in the Albertina Museum.

img_2404

A place in... Stephanplatz, was it? I think so. Heh.

img_24021

Another monumental build.

img_2408

Majestic, eh? =P

img_2411

Another nice view, even though it was raining.

img_2414

Er... some place near Stephanplatz as well.

img_2415

Horse carts! Whee!

img_2418

Horses! With ears all covered up!

Well, bloggers, that's all the pictures I've uploaded here. If you have my Facebook account, you'd see loads more. I might sound like such a professor when I talk of all these places, but honestly, these are the only places I know of. =P

Hope you've enjoyed this post!

Every Patient Has His Own Doctor Within

Sorry! I know I should be sued for my inconsistency in posting. First, I post so sporadically. Then I post some mysterious Mandarin list of words which, apparently, few get what the hell passes through this brain of mine. Then I disappear for so long before consenting to post.

*whacks own head*

Indeed, today's title is 'Every patient has his own doctor within'. When you think about it, it's very true in many aspects. Perhaps when you're at your darkest hour, there really is no one who can heal you, except yourself. Your determination has to pull through, your perseverance mustn't waver, your positive mind should be your pillar - if you grasp each concept with an apt grip,  you have nothing left to fear.

I don't know about you, but life gets to me sometimes. I do get fed up with routine, and the monotonous steps I seem to trudge through; I do wonder if there is a higher purpose in life, or if we're all just keeping ourselves busy till we can finally lie on our deathbeds; I do wonder if, while I seem to lead this lovely (and am very grateful to my parents for this) life, I would lead more meaningful a life if I were a pauper, because everything that passes through my fingers would resemble gold.

Two minutes later, I'd be cursing myself for thinking such thoughts, because how can I? When I have so many things to be grateful for?

I've always wanted to grow up and make a difference in the world. Nowadays, what does it matter if I ever make a difference in some future, faceless, nameless person's life? What does it matter if I leave behind a significance to my name or not? I'd be dead and gone, and is my soul really going to ascend into another place? Maybe all this time, it's just been my mind and me, my mind being me, my mind controlling me.

All I'm saying is that, whenever I'm in a roller coaster, I'll have to be the one to seek my chance and push the 'stop' button.

And whenever you want to run away, all you have to do is kacau a friend and let her lay out your ridiculous ideas in their ridiculous positions from a sensible perspective. (Yes lah, it's you lah).
