Whoa. I'm getting ahead of myself. Oh crap. I've forgotten what I wanted to post initially. There was something worthy to be posted about, definitely.
Anyway, just finished James Patterson's Jack and Jill. Surprisingly enough, it got me hooked on the last few pages, but at the same time got me wondering what the real reason behind all the crimes were. Patterson seems to repeat himself for emphasis, but I think that once I got used to his style, it became real interesting.
I wonder if his books are all like this? Or do they vary in style/plot? Sarah thinks that the plot gets repetitive if you read more of his books, but I'll take a wild chance and maybe (just maybe) read another.
Sarah's about to lend me three of Jodi Picoult's. Yay! Real excited, but I can't let my grades slip as well. Definitely going to do some work after this.
I got marks for three subs so far. Not too bad, but not much better than mid-year's. Ah well. The journey has only just begun. Thinking of watching Commander in Chief later. I watched one of the episodes. Not too bad.
Hooi Ping - Oh, it's okay! You can continue having it until you finish reading it! It just slipped my mind who borrowed the book, that's all. LoL
Tabby - Tabby. Tabby. Tabby.

Of books and such
Talked with Gitz about how much fun we're going to have after SPM. Haha. Gurney's gonna be our second home. Form 5's are so gonna rule!
But first comes the harder part. SPM. Yeah. The big one. It's as if we've worked so hard all these past years just to finally get through it - PMR and UPSR seem like kacang right now. LoL, don't worry, Saras, Viv - you guys will get what I mean after this year.
Viv - You should get to know Xin Yee more. Maybe you could like, form a club for 'creative solutions'.
Steph - LoL, no, sweetie. They're very different. Xin Yee's from CLS. Kinda confusing, I know, haha.
TJ - Torture. XD
Chad - It went, erm, well, I think? LoL, we'll see.
Whye Yen - Hey! OMG, miss you and Win Yee so much! LoL. Salt water, yeah - our families are one of a kind. I don't even know if it's actually a good thing. =P
Saras - Have fun with all your small assessments before the real PMR!
Tabby - If you're reading this, I take it that you didn't puke on your laptop. XD
Hooi Ping - And if you are reading this, you're online too! Go study! PMR in less than a month, I think? All the best!
Right now, the political state in our dear country is quite... disturbing. It's splashed all over the frontpages of every single newspaper you can get your hands on, and unless you've been hiding in a cave, you'd have noticed that the whole atmosphere in M'sia is pretty volatile.
So, so retarded.
Anyway, my trials ended yesterday, and Rachel lent me this James Patterson book. Not bad, actually. Gruesome, but not bad. Somehow, I've been finding a really hard time finding authors whose books I truly enjoy. I mean, surely you've bought a book before and regretted it, and then having drag your eyes past every page just to satisfy the ache from paying for an unworthy story. I'm not trying to be mean - I know how bloody hard it is to write something worthwhile - but I've been in a rut trying to get an author whose works make me laugh/think/smile/cry/imagine/fantasise.
Marian Keyes
Jodi Piccoult
Cathy Kelly
Joanne Rowling
Meg Cabot
The few authors (Rowling, Piccoult, Keyes, Kelly, Cabot) whom I like, I have gone through their words tens of times. I just want something fresh, is that too much to ask for?
Gosh. I sound like a whiny five-year-old.
Maybe I'll go read Archie comics. That should relieve this frustration.

Random
Just came home from tuition. Here's an interesting convo between Xin Yee and myself:
Me: His head ah... Can't see what's he's writing at all...
Xin Yee: Go chop the head off.
What can I say? I have friends with extremely - er - interesting forms of solutions, even if they might involve broken bones - or a skull, for that matter - but hey, who's looking?
I am officially a fruit queen. Yes, hail me now! Mum and Dad and my sis went to Cameron Highlands along with Dad's support group (it's a support group for cancer patients and their families. I went to one of the meetings once, and it's really inspiring. I mean, people ask each other, 'So how was your chemo?' instead of pathetic questions about the weather, and to witness such positivity is like WOW. Well, back to the topic...) so I was all home alone for two days. Unless you count my grandparents who came over and fed me and stayed with me and took me to tuitions and took me for dinner and lunch and even allowed me to watch Oprah...
Hm.
Okaaay. Not exactly home alone. Not even at all torturing. In fact, I might even go as far as to say that it's quite peaceful. And I get to be pampered. =P
On the other hand, I'm absolutely stuffed with fruits. It's like a fruit fiesta with Pop and Yeah (that's grandma and grandpa to you), coz Pop brought all these mangoes from Yeah's fruit tree, and coz mum had already bought papaya and watermelon for me beforehand, so yeah. A lot of fruits. A LOT.
Not that I'm complaining.
Maybe I am. Because I feel absolutely bloated now.
But then again, it was good.
You know what? I'm talking crap. This is what happens when laziness (and constant procrastination from studying) does to you.
PS: I'll reply comments later on. This was supposed to be a quick post, haha, see y'all!
