Unpublished

Random title.

A little showing off before I sleep. Which isn't all that great anyway. LoL.

La-di-da.

Random stuff

I studied Bio! Haha. Gonna do some Add Maths after this. Promised Ranj that I would message her once I studied these two subs. Prob gonna call Gitz later.

Here is some photoshop stuff that I did. Very amateur-ish. LoL.

The first one is to everyone who wished me Happy Birthday. THANK YOU!

This second one is just for fun. And because I had nothing to do while waiting for Phoay Ning's dad to pick her up. XD

With crazy people

I'm currently with Su Sian and Phoay Ning - at my place. We're supposed to do some photoshop thingy, but we finished it in like, 2 seconds. More like, we just chose whatever pics we liked from Sports Day and gave the whole thing to Su Sian. Actually, now I come to think of it, we didn't even need to choose the pics. BUT it sure was fun. I mean, yeah, Phoay Ning was more interested in playing with her Game Boy, and Su Sian was far more excited in taking pics of the house - but it was fun.

I have just discovered that Su Sian is crazily hyper. Yes, I mean, hyper. Like, never sitting still. I know, freaky.

Tabby - Haven't gone on msn in AGES. It's just too... distracting.

Chad - LoL. Everyone has their own style of typing/writing/commenting. You have yours. XD

Kitt - True enough. Naive people and too-smart-but-too-bored-for-their-good people are the ones who make the world go round.

TJ - You poor thing. Have fun at camp anyway!

The other side of the Internet

Aha. TEOF. I guessed as much. How'd you find out about this blog anyway?

TJ - You NEED to post!

Okay. Today's topic will be about the other side of the Internet. Let me just start off: The Internet is a beautiful thing. Its invention has made mankind's (specifically, mine) life so much more worth living. Heck, I can go on Yahoo Answers and quiz off my Chemistry paper and nobody bothers. Neat? You bet.

The thing is, though, the Internet can also be pretty... annoying. Like when you get spams, or chain emails, or adverts, or whatever crap they have nowadays. It just irritates me. Especially those that claim 'You've won $$$'. Look, buddy, I'm only human. I can only resist the temptation to click for so long. Click, and instead of receiving 'Ka-ching' in my inbox, I get - voila! - hacked.

It's not so much the spams, now I come to think of it. It's the temptation. The temptation to just shortcut to a handful of $$$. The itch to just click the darn thing. The regret of looking at the potential $$$ yet knowing that it ain't yours. Not now, not ever.

Gah.

Camp was pretty fun. Enjoyed it. Well, I would, since I'm one of the excos. XD.

Great days

Great days like today don't come often. And today sure was a great one! XD. Woke up, wrote, ate, wrote, read newspaper, wrote, studied Lit, went out to JM Education, slept, ate, went out to collect sis, dinner, did add maths.

Okay, fine. Academic wise, not such a great day, but hey, at least I did something. It's camp day tomorrow. I hope it's fun. Well, don't worry, I'll make it fun!

Did you know that you could use your mid year results to apply for colleges/scholarships? Gah. My mid years are like, disastrous. If I get like 4A1s, 3A2s, 4Bs, I think there might still be a little hope. Please just let me pass my chem.

Chemistry. I love Chemistry. I loooove Chemistry.

I'm seriously getting panicky. We have what, 3 months to prepare? OMG. That's like ninety days. Minus eating, sleeping, bathing and all crap, I'd be lucky if I get 48 hours.

This is such a bloody joyful post.

And, oh, TEOF? You'd better tell me who you are. I don't even know if you're some crazy crackpot from the nearest asylum. Note: Do refrain from cursing my head off.

Kylie's Birthday!

T.E.O.F - Who the hell are you?

Anyway, it's Kylie's birthday today! LoL. Hence, I shall be singing!

Happy birthday to you
Happy birthday to you
Happy birthday to Kylie
Happy birthday to you

Whee!

Supposed to go to school today, but since I'm not really needed at school, I decided to stay home and work on an essay. The Stranger. Sounds delicious, eh? Go on, TJ, cook something up!

I actually got quite a number of essay titles from this book in the school library. Too bad I lost the whole list. It's got loads of really interesting stuff.

I lost 2 essays that Pop marked. No! This is truly TERRIBLE. I've been looking for them for ages. Where oh where can they possibly be?

Need to photostat some stuff for the camp tomorrow. RC camp on Wednesday and Thursday. I'm part of the committee! XD. I've always wanted to say that. Later, I'll be going to some JM Education thingy at the Pulau Tikus Plaza. You know, the one opposite CPT? Or opposite the Immaculate Conception?

Never mind.

PS: I'll be posting pictures when I get into the Windows operating system.

Shopaholic

Bought this book called 'Shopaholic and Baby' yesterday at the Popular Book Fair at Gurney. Tried to read it a few years back, wasn't exactly my style, but when I read this one yesterday, it wasn't half bad.

Thus, me bought it.

So far, I've skipped a few lines here and there. Overall, the writing style is cute and funny, though I thought that she could've made it more ticklish. Never overdose on the humour, that's what I say.

LoL. As if what I say is oh-so important.

La-di-da.

Went to school today. Gonna meet Veryn to get my lit stuff back. You know, I really should go to Starbucks one of these days.

Tried reading chem. I REALLY need to try harder. Gonna do one karangan later.

PS: Today is WARM.
PPS: Aw, Tabby reads the blog! So maybe I'll post pics after all.

XD

Saturday 24 May 2008

Pictures?

Due to the fact that I'm awfully busy and that no one actually reads this blog, there will be no pics.

No, really. No pictures.

Went to visit Pn Tan today. Half her face is swollen, the poor darling. I really, really hope she gets better.

Working on something. Went for Baskie tuition this morning. Was sleeeepy. Met Sheen Yi there. Weird-ness. Haven't seen her for like, years. She looks good though.

Pn Tan admitted to hosp

Pn Tan and her family were admitted to the hospital today. We (Gitz, Chee Li, me, Anna) are gonna visit her tomorrow. The poor dear.

Let's all pray for her.

Teachers' Day

Teachers' Day was TIRING. LoL. No, seriously, it was. But fun/productive. Managed to interview a couple of people for the school mag, give teachers their prezzies and host the whole ceremony with Gitz. Mad, but FUN.

Anyway, I'll be posting some pics soon, once I upload it, which I'm so lazy to do. Haha.

Now that exam's over, I'll probably be posting here a lot less. Then a plethora of posts will just pour in the next time I have an exam.

Messed up timing, that's what I have.

Currently working on something. Will let y'all know. XD.

Need to plan my hols, otherwise it'll be a waste of time.

Going to Starbucks this Sunday to group study. Again. Who knows? Maybe we'll go to McD instead. A lot cheaper anyway. I think I see a whole in my pocket already.

Egads.

Emcee-ing

Me and Gitz => emcees for Teachers' Day! LoL. This is actually quite exciting.

See the bracelet up there? Yes, the one right under '.:: $Hu ::.' It's a result of my camera and my bracelet. I'm feeling a little mad right now. Need to make something special for Teachers' Day. XD

We're thinking of getting Pn Soon something interesting. Maybe a bunch of flowers? Or a carved pen? Personally, I think the bunch of flowers will be better. I mean, a carved pen is kinda common.

I haven't touched the piano in a whole month. Gah.

Guess what? I got 91 for EST! LoL. I'm really happy for that - I mean, I'm hardly good at any other subject. Got 77 for Sejarah. A little disappointed, but I really tried my best, so well. For add maths paper 2, I got 68. This is over a freakin' hundred. Wait til the killer paper 1 results come back. Got Physics 2, got 51 (awfully suckish, considering that it's over 100), and 33 for paper 3.

There's a psychology seminar coming up, and I'm still contemplating whether or not to go. RM 5 and they give refreshments. Limited seats. Studylink. 30th of May.

Hm.

You know what?

I bore myself.

A Talk with Aunt Doreen

Mum, Aunt Doreen and myself had a talk about our school. Aunt Doreen is from CLS too, though she hasn't visited the school since, well - it's been long.

Sorry, guys. This is gonna be a pretty mushy post.

The school's motto is 'Be aware, care and share'. Sounds cheesy? Probably does. But there's no cooler way to put it. Simple in virtue, steadfast in duty. We learn that honesty, sincerity and friendship are the basic foundations that make up life; we learn that to care is to go the extra mile; we learn that academics aside, there are many traits that make us the people that we're going to introduce to society.

Convent Light Street. I'm so proud of this school, and I thank goodness that I decided to come here 5 years ago. We have had fund raisers, food and fun fairs, camps upon camps upon camps, Thanksgiving Days, Good Fridays and Prayer Services. We even organised a Friendship Day when we were in Form 2! In this school, I have learnt so many things that mere words are inadequate in expressing my absolute gratitude and love for the school. Even when I'm forty, I'd still like to come back and retrace the footsteps that I once trod.

There were ups. And downs. But all of that only served to make secondary school life a thousand times more exciting and unique.

If I never get an opportunity to say this, I'm gonna say it now: I love CLS!

I would really love to do something for the school.

May the school stay strong. Colistrians, have faith!

10 (+11) Random Things

1. I'm studying Chem. Again.

2. I'm contemplating to call my camera 'Mandy'. Tribute to the awesome Mandy Moore.

3. I *just* found out that my phone can do the calender and schedule thing. Heh.

4. Current fav sub: English.

5. Current fav dried fruit: Prunes.

6. Current fav book: Further Under the Duvet.

7. Current fav writer: Jodi Piccoult

8. Current obsession: Camera!

9. I set the paper for RC's camp for this hols.

10. Gitz and I are emcees for Teachers' Day.

(+11)

1. English - As long as the teacher doesn't think that I veered off topic and there are no grammatical errors (didn't check in time), I'm safe.

2. BM - Novel part *gone*. Don't ask.

3. Chinese - Why do I bother?

4. Bio - So-so.

5. Chem - So far... NOT good.

6. Physics - I actually like this sub. If I do okay tomorrow, I must just manage to unscrew one subject. XD

7. Add Maths - Averagelah.

8. Maths - Not as well as I could have done.

9. Sej - If I play my cards right tomorrow, I might just do some good.

10. Moral - Screw it!

11. EST - Not too bad.

Hm. This is interesting. Looks like I only have hope for English, Physics, Sej and EST.

*curses*

The 'P' Word

The 'P' word. Can you guess it?

No lah! It's not parrot! I don't even know anyone who owns a parrot!

Ahem. The 'P' word. The forbidden word.

Parents.

I've just realized that parents are all first-timers, and with every child that they bring up, they are just experimenting with the best that they can offer. What works for one child may not work for another, and just because two children laugh at the same cartoon doesn't mean they're both happy. Society expects you to never give up on your child, even if he is a lousy character who barks at your every plea or a drug abuser who gets high every alternate day. It's your bloody fault if he turns out like crap; does it even matter that you tried your best?

Being a parent must be quite draining. You know that chicken nuggets and fried potatoes are gonna lead your kid to be an unhealthy couch potato who, soon enough, will face high blood pressure, high sodium intake, clogged arteries with a risk of diabetes, but really, who cares about the future if you get the gratification of watching your kid smile up at you?

Too bad there ain't no rules about parenting. Like the guidebook on rules we have at school.

Then again, parenting would be just too easy.

Durians + Salt Water

For your information, durians and salt water do NOT go together. I don't even know any other family who drinks salt water after eating durians. Salt water, you tell me.

It's my own fault for eating durians in the first place; I KNEW I'd have to take salt water after that, but did that stop me?

Noooo. I just had to eat it.

Bloody durians.

Thought of exercising, but I'm so lazy. Haha. Will do Add Maths after this (already got roasted by my parents for taking that afternoon nap - it was ONLY for like, 3 hours).

Gitz. Your disease ah. We must pass it to someone else lah. Keep going on like this, and we're toast for the next exam.

Btw, I took more pics with the camera! XD. Currently thinking of a suitable name for it. I already have Tinkerbell, Tonks and Tiffany (in short, Tinks, Tonks and Tiffy). And I need two other 'T' names for another two thumbs. Any ideas?

Please refrain from giving ridiculous names like 'Tutu'. Someone once told me that, and I'd like to point out that my pendrives are perfectly straight, proper electronic tools with perfectly straight, proper names! With that in mind, I shall consider our correspondence closed should anyone so much as suggest 'Tutu'.

There are people singing 'If you're happy and you know it, clap your hands' somewhere in the distance. Is there a party going on? If so, I'm glad I have no association whatsoever with it.

Hm. Neighbours don't read blogs, do they?

PS: Does salt water really counter the heat from durians? Does it actually work? If possible, just say that it doesn't, if just so I can stop thinking twice before reaching for a golden flesh of the poky fruit.

SEVENTEEN!

I'm seventeen! The big one-seven. It's so ... final. Haha. The age where you'll be graduating, getting your driver's license (even though I have no wish of doing all the errands that come with it ... Hahaha, Gitz! ), parting with your friends and leaping into a completely unknown world, and oh yeah, sitting for SIJIL PEPERIKSAAN MENENGAH.

At least, I think that's what SPM stands for.

Anyway, I didn't come here to talk about all this nonsense. We've got more pressing matters to deal with!

Thanks to everyone who wished me happy birthday! Totally love you all!

Note: I shall be photoshopping something soon enough to express my inadvertent gratitude.

*sniff *

I got a camera from my parents. Wheee! All the more reason to post pictures here!

Literature was loads of fun today, as it is always. Ayshwarya (I just learnt how to spell her name) came back Ipoh, haha. Next week, we'll be taking a group picture! So, it'll be Gitz, Ranj, Sabrina, Veryn, Aysh, Cassandra and me. XD. Wonder if Pn Gurjeet would consent to take the picture. Or maybe she could join us, but then I'll have to learn how to set the timer thing.

Troublesome.

And I'm talking as though I don't have bio and add maths exam tomorrow.

Picture time!

Roz gave each one of us a keychain like this. I think she went to China? Yeah. Gave it to us last year. Total cuteness!

Was bored lah. Can you blame me?

My guitar, LoL. Even though I know nuts about it.

Ciao!

Birthday Song

I don't know why, but this year, my birthday seems a lot more meaningful. I mean, not in terms of material or whatever, it's just this FEELING. Haha.

The class sang a song for me today (yes, we had school on a Saturday) and it was so sweeet of everyone! Thanks, you guys!

Thanks, Kim Yen for messaging me!

Today we had literature class after school, and we finished the novel today. We learnt that people are what their circumstances make them, like the Warden in story, and that if we try to understand other people, we can actually find it in our hearts to forgo whatever they've done. Forgive.

Sometimes, people won't learn if you just tell them what to do. They need to make their own mistakes. They need to learn their own lessons.

LoL. I sound oh-so-wise right now.

It's like two hours before the big day. My last two hours of being sixteen. OMG. I'm turning seventeen. SEVENTEEN. Wow.

I've lived for so long.

Right now, I'm just thinking about everything I've done in all my years alive, and honestly, I don't know when it will all be taken away from me. Life is short - it's an overused cliche, but whatever - and if you don't enjoy yourself, well, what a wasted life. I'd rather be a comedianne rather than someone who works herself sick in a stark office, facing walls that look as though they have never befriended colours.

I've always thought that when you die, you'd get all these flashes of everything you've achieved and think about the trail that you're leaving behind. I was wrong. Living isn't just about making sure that someone remembers you after you're dead and gone; life is about the people you touch, the friends you get to be close to, the other hearts that you can send beating with an even, happy rhythm - that's what life is all about, because when you see the smile that lights up the faces of the ones that you love, nothing is not worth it.

Sleeep

Did you know that sleeping is good for the body, mind and soul? That it keeps your skin looking like it hasn't just died and thrown back to earth because its pathetic owner needs it? That sleeping keeps you from feeling like crap in school when the teacher is equivalent to a sleeping pill?

Sleep = Pure goodness.

And to all a good night!

Mantra worked.

Chem was ... okay. Surprisingly. Not fantastic, nearly the worst of all, but it's still relatively better than last year. At least I could understand the freakin' question. Anyway, here's what I need to study today:

Alkenes and how to change to alkanes, Contact/Haber/Ostwald process, salts (everything after double decomposition), chapter 9 (the industry thing - I've never even flipped through those pages).

I know, I know. I have Maths and EST tomorrow, but since I've already screwed up chem paper 2, I figured I'd better buck up for paper 1 next week.

Or maybe I'll do Add Maths.

I CAN'T believe this post has only been about exams. Gah.

Btw, chinese wasn't killer either. Paper 2 killed me last week, so maybe this is some kind of consolation from heavens' chess players. Either way, I'm gonna kiss the ground before this good fortune fades off.

Thursday 15 May 2008

OMG. I have Chinese too.

I just remembered! I also have Chinese tomorrow! Gaaahhh!

*meditates*

*ohhmmm*

Yeah, ok. Meditating never worked for me. I just end up asleep.

Anyhow, I'm already worried off my skull for chemistry, so there's not much brain capacity left for me to be freaked about chinese. Just as well. I do NOT need freaking out.

I finished most of the chapters for Chemistry (it was kind of like, breezing through), though I've still got to look through Carbon Compounds. Tried to read Salts, kind of gave up after the part of double decomposition. If you don't know what I'm talking about, HAH! This means that I STUDIED. Which I seem to do very little of these days.

I love Chemistry.

I love Chemistry.

I love Chemistry.

I love Chemistry.

I love Chemistry.

Maybe if I say this often enough, I'll actually believe it.

I love Chemistry.

I love Chemistry.

I love Chemistry.

No, really. I do.

*prays*

This mantra better work.

Out of Chem boredom

I still can't believe that Chem is Kitt's fav subject.

I need all the luck I can get. Even if I am a tad lazy to actually open the book.

Photoshopped while studying. I never knew I could multitask. XD

Gitz called, and she's kinda right about something. I SHOULD study.

Ahem. I always knew that, but sitting down until 2am memorising what colour ferum oxide turns into upon heating isn't my idea of fun. BUT no one ever said that studying couldn't be fun too, so I'm gonna make up stories of elves and pixies to get me through that Salts chapter! Hahaha!

Chemistry story #1:

A YELLOWISH-GREEN elf sneaks into Santa's workshop via his chimney. Unfortunately, he doesn't realize that Santa likes to keep warm and has left the fire burning in the fireplace. Elf burns himself, turning BROWN.

Santa: What's your name, little elf?

Elf: Ferum, sir.

Santa: Well, well, well. Now, we can't have elves popping in and out of my chimney, now can we? You shall be named FERUM OXIDE from now on, because that burn in your back pocket is exactly what is PRODUCED.

Elf: Sir, if I taste something salty... ?

Santa: Ho, ho, ho! That's the CATIONS on your burnt little bottom.

...

This is sooo pointless.

I'm boring myself to bits.

3.29pm

That's what the clock says. Gitz dropped me home. Funny how much less time it actually takes to travel from school now that I've moved. =P

Moral was so bad that I could have chewed my own head off. Except that, you know, I wouldn't. Because that's something only a retard would do. Which ONLY refers to me when I'm doing something really barbaric/baboonic.

Barbarian. Hmm. New 'B' word. XD. An excellent variation to 'baboon'.

Has anyone ever watched Dave the Barbarian? Well, if you're nodding, you must either be a younger-than-five kid, or someone about as old as Alyssa (who, in doll's years, in roughly 89). Or, hold up, did I change her name to Melanie or something? Ah well. I've changed her name too many times, the poor dear.

Since I'm bored and I have no intention of studying chem until I've actually washed up and slept for three good, solid hours, I shall reveal 10 interesting facts about yours truly (oi sheh, promoting myself):

1. I have a rabbit plush toy, which is roughly a young kid's size, called Mr Rabbit.

2. I have a brown plush puppy called - surprise, surprise - Brownie.

3. I have a Koala bear from Australia called 'From'.

4. I have a kangaroo from Australia called 'Australia'.

5. I have a rag doll (an excellent one, mind you - she's been with me since I was five, though as I said, in doll's years, she's 89) named ... er ... erm... uh ... never mind.

6. My plush toys used to be my audience whenever I was practising a speech or just singing (out of tune)

7. I stare at my curtain when I'm bored - if anyone else does this, let me know! I'd love to share views on the fabric of curtains and how they're sewed! I know what you mean! All those mean ceiling-staring people won't understand how we curtain-starers feel!

8. I'm bored.

9. I'm beginning to sound like Kitt.

10. I'm finally coming to the end of this stupid list that I stupidly decided to stupidly start.

*thinks*

Additional: #11. I hope no teacher ever reads blogs.

Wednesday 14 May 2008

Home alone

The maid is around, but otherwise, I'm home alone!

Yeah, I'm THAT bored.

I just found out that we can take cameras to school on Teachers' Day! Our gang hasn't taken pics or gone out for AGES. Honestly. Thus, since it is our last year, I shall be cunningly persuading my dad for me to grab the camera and use it till it's all ashes and smoke!

I'm screwed for my Bio. Not entirely SCREWED, but pretty close. For Maths, I actually forgot that upper boundary is the greater boundary, not the smaller one. Ah well. That's one question down the drains. Thank goodness SPM lets you choose only four questions. There was this other question on transformation (and not your typical easy-peasy 'state the coordinates of X after transformation PQ' either) but it was an interesting deviation from the usual ones we're taught in school. And since I didn't do the ogive, please just let me get the scale factor right.

On another note, tomorrow is the moral paper. I shall be reading... tomorrow! Haha. It starts after 11, I think. LoL.

Check this out. Someone sent me this message.

' There are three facts on earth:

Fact #1: You can't touch all your teeth with your tongue.

*pause*

Fact #2: All fools who read this will be trying it now.

*pause*

Fact #3: Now you'll be smiling because you're a fool. '

Modified it a little, but the message pulls through just fine. XD

I'm bored. I need an essay title! Something exciting, anyone?

Man, I hope Pn Mary marks the essays quickly. Suspense kills.

Tuesday 13 May 2008

Boredom kills

Thus, I shall be posting pictures! XD

I'm very inexperienced, so whenever you see a new picture that crops up in my blog, you're entitled to go 'ahhh' and stare in awe. Why? Because I'm inexperienced. If you see a lame caption below, you're expected to go 'wow'. Why? Because I'm inexperienced. See? Inexperience-ness has its advantages. =]

In memory of my lost phone. Took this pic last year at a PC fair.

A little photoshopping. XD

Okay, uploading pics and everything actually takes a really long time! I have no idea how people stand it! Gah!

Anyway, hope ya'll liked the pics!

New blog!

Let me first start off by saying: YEEESSSS!!! You have no idea how long I've been trying to get a blog all done up. I mean, yeah, I made blogs all over the place, but I was pretty shocked when I couldn't even sign in to my account at blogsavy.

Wordpress - I'm here. Without a choice, mind you. Why, you ask? Because I have come to the conclusion that every other blog host out there is simply an alternate name for Wordpress.

Blogspot. *Wordpress in disguise*

Blogsavy. *Wordpress in disguise* ... And I was ONLY gone for 4 months! Sheesh. No reason to shut me down.

See what I mean?

I didn't want to use Wordpress at first, 'cause Joyce is using it, and I didn't want to 'copy' her. I know, I know - kiasu attitude. Whatever.

Anyway, I'm here, at Wordpress. Even though I have to say that LiveJournal isn't too bad, which is probably the only that doesn't U-turn to Wordpress, except that you can't really upload images. The thing about LiveJournal though, is that you can actually program the entries to be viewed only by you, so you can crap your whole life on it for all the world can care, and no one else will actually find out. Cool, huh? I know. XD

I'm SUPPOSED to be studying, but I think it's something to do with the exams - I always get distracted by blogging. And it's only during exams. After that, I don't bother for another 4 months until they -*gasp* - shut me down. Then I need to go to all that trouble to set up a new one.

Today was English. I chose Dreams. I wonder if it veered away from the topic? Ah well. What's done is done. At least it's loads better than my BM, for which I'm more roasted than a chicken pot pie.

Oh wait.

Chicken pot pies are baked, aren't they?

*pause*

*racks brain*

..

..

..

Unfortunately, the language of the kitchen escapes me. Thus, I am left to referring chicken pot pies as 'roasted' chicken pot pies.

Oh, yeah.

Study.
